Joint Public Safety and Health and Human Services Committee to hold virtual meetings on July 29

The joint Public Safety (PS) and Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will hold a closed session on Thursday, July 29 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the County Detention Center.

The joint PS and HHS Committee will then hold a virtual public meeting at 2:15 p.m. to discuss substance abuse treatment programs for persons in the criminal justice system and the prevention of and response to mass shootings, including the use of red flag laws.

The members of the PS Committee include Chair Sidney Katz, Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz and Council President Tom Hucker.

The members of the HHS Committee include Chair and Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz and Councilmembers Evan Glass (Lead for Homelessness & Vulnerable Communities) and Craig Rice.
