As coronavirus spreads to people under 40, it’s making them sicker — and for longer — than once thought

COVID-19 News Update: THIS JUST IN: COVID-19 Breaking News REAL TIME STATS: COVID-19 Updated Statistics For the first few months of the coronavirus pandemic, health and government officials assured the public that young people were at little or no risk of falling seriously ill from COVID-19. But many young people who have contracted the virus tell a very different story, one that should serve as a warning to young adults in the Southern and Western states where infections are surging. “For younger people who think they don’t need to worry and who haven’t followed guidelines, think again,” Jade Townsend, 22, told Yahoo News in a Facebook message. “It’s had a major impact on my life these past few months and continues to have an impact.” A worker at a nursery in Oxford, England, Townsend came down with mild COVID-19 symptoms — a sore throat, tightness in the chest and a slight cough — in early March. Tucker Carlson’s Journey From Coronavirus Alarm-Puller to COVID Truther

COVID-19 News Update: THIS JUST IN: COVID-19 Breaking News REAL TIME STATS: COVID-19 Updated Statistics Chip Somodevilla/Getty In early March, while President Donald Trump’s loudest allies at Fox News downplayed the coronavirus pandemic, with some claiming it was nothing more than an “impeachment scam” to destroy the president, Tucker Carlson received widespread—and usual, considering his notoriously far-right rhetoric—praise for calling out his colleagues and Trump for “minimizing” the impending danger. The Fox News primetime star continues to receive plaudits for reportedly convincing the president to finally take the crisis seriously. Days after that March 9 monologue, which was delivered shortly after Carlson privately spoke with Trump about the virus, the president publicly addressed the nation and his administration began pushing social-distancing guidelines. While Carlson sounding the alarm much earlier than his Fox News peers may have a had a positive impact (on h

Kurt Schrader of Oregon, voted against the measure.  Waters said the Emergency Housing Protections and Relief Act of 2020 contains several provisions that were included in the HEROES Act, a $3 trillion stimulus bill that passed the House in May. How To Breathe Properly While Running

Many beginner runners quickly find themselves out of breath. This usually means that their pace is too fast. But it can also be due to inefficient breathing while running. In today’s post, we show you how to breathe properly while running and thus improve your performance. Deep belly breathing vs shallow chest breathing While running you should use deep belly breathing (or diaphragmatic breathing) as it’s better for efficient and maximal oxygen uptake (VO2 max) than shallow chest breathing. The air you breathe in only remains in the lungs a short time, thus preventing a complete exchange of air. This then reduces the amount of oxygen you take in. Poor breathing technique is often the reason why people get the dreaded side stitch while running.  Deep belly breathing, on the other hand, is a much more efficient breathing technique for running because it uses the entire capacity of the lungs. The air you breathe in also travels down to the lower portion of your lungs and stays the

The Texas Medical Center scrubbed data showing ICU beds at full capacity as the state’s coronavirus cases spike

COVID-19 News Update: THIS JUST IN: COVID-19 Breaking News REAL TIME STATS: COVID-19 Updated Statistics Nurses set up oxygen equipment for a newly arrived COVID-19 patient in the United Memorial Medical Center in Houston, Texas, on May 6, 2020. The move was temporary, a spokesperson said: “After the events of this week, everyone realized the capacity question was complicated and misunderstood. So new slides are being made that better explain.” Coronavirus cases in Texas are surging, and may soon put ICUs at “unsustainable” capacity. Just two states, Connecticut and Rhode Island, are seeing a decline in infections.  Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.
