Montgomery County Leaders Offer Support for Stay at Home Order and Report on Hospital Surge Capacity and Testing
Today Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Emergency Management Director Dr. Earl Stoddard announced their support for the Governor’s Stay at Home Order and provided updates on hospital surge capacity and the County’s progress with COVID-19 testing.
In a video conference call with regional media, the County Executive said he was not surprised by the Governor’s announcement, adding it was the right decision to now mandate Maryland residents stay home.
The Governor’s Executive Order requires all Maryland residents, as of 8 p.m. on Monday, March 30, stay in their homes or residences with the exceptions of conducting or participating in essential activities.
People allowed to travel outside the home include staff and owners of businesses and organizations that are not required to close.
