1 dead after car crashes into tractor trailer in Prince George’s Co.

One person is dead after a car crash in Prince George’s County, Maryland late Thursday night.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. on northbound Route 301 at Cedarville Road when a car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer, according to police.

Maryland State Police said the car then caught on fire.

Fire and EMS officials pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The condition of the tractor trailer driver is unknown.

Police have closed northbound Route 301 while investigations continue.
