One person is dead after a hit-and-run accident on the Baltimore Washington Parkway at the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Traffic is being diverted as police investigate.
It happened at around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes on the overpass above Interstate 495.
U.S. Park Police say a pedestrian died and the vehicle left the scene.
Police have not yet identified the pedestrian or said why that person was on the road.
All traffic is being diverted to the Outer Loop of Interstate 495. The ramp from the Outer Loop to the southbound lanes of the parkway is blocked.
The Inner Loop ramp to the southbound lanes of the Baltimore Washington Parkway is still open.
