Fifteenth Annual Health Freedom Walk Scheduled for Saturday, June 8

The Department of Health and Human Services’ African American Health Program, in collaboration with Health Freedom, Inc., and Maryland National Capital Park and Planning’s Montgomery Parks will host the 15th Annual Health Freedom Celebration Walk: A Path to Wellness Celebration Walk. The event will be held on Saturday, June 8 at the Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park located at 16501 Norwood Road in Sandy Spring. The celebration will take place rain or shine.

Registration will open at 8 a.m. for the three-mile walk, which will begin at 9 a.m.  Following the walk, there will be interactive movement demonstrations from a local fitness trainer from Elite Bodies. Walk participants will also have free entry to the visitor’s center, which includes multimedia exhibits. There will be vendors focused on African American history in Montgomery County.
