Northbound traffic is backed up for several miles on the approach to Laurel, along the National Arboretum. One northbound lane reopened around 6 a.m.
Travelers hoping to reach BWI Airport could be impacted.
The WTOP Traffic Center suggests Interstate 95 as an alternative route. For the latest traffic and road conditions, see WTOP’s traffic page.
