“This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer” Celebrates Black History and Women’s History Month

Montgomery County’s Office of Human Rights and Commission for Women will present a film screening of “This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer.” The free event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at the BlackRock Center for the Arts located at 12901 Town Commons Drive in Germantown.

The film tells the story of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. A panel discussion with Ms. Willie King and Rev. Dr. Ruby Reese Moone, Civil Rights champions who knew and worked with Fannie Lou Hamer, as well as Robin Hamilton, the film maker and Nicole Y. Drew, President of the Commission for Women will follow the screening. Light refreshments will be served.
