Naval Academy midshipmen to select ships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — About 250 U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen will be selecting the first ships they’ll be working on.

The academy’s annual Ship Selection Night is scheduled for Thursday in Annapolis.

Midshipmen in the Class of 2019 who will serve as surface warfare officers after graduating will choose their first ship and homeport.

Their options include a variety of Navy ships based out of ports worldwide.

Prince George’s Co. prosecutor: High school stabbing tied to MS-13

She added: “We believe it is associated with MS-13 and we are taking whatever precautions are necessary to protect the children and teachers and staff in these schools from this sort of activity.” Alsobrooks called the news conference one day after the 16-year-old Parkdale High School student was stabbed multiple times in a wooded area near the school.
