Overturned 18-wheeler hauling TVs overturns, blocks I-370 ramp

WASHINGTON — One man is in the hospital and a ramp on westbound Interstate 370 is closed after a tractor-trailer hauling TVs overturned near Gaithersburg, Maryland, Wednesday night.

The westbound I-370 ramp to southbound Interstate 270 is closed, and it is unclear when the ramp will reopen.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, first reported about the incident around 11:15 p.m.

According to Piringer’s tweets, the 18-wheeler’s fuel tank ruptured and hazmat crews responded to the scene.

One man was sent to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He is expected to be OK.
