Delaware man sentenced to 8 years for gun charge, distributing heroin in Maryland

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware man has been sentenced to an eight-year prison sentence for his role in a multi-state heroin ring.

Prosecutors said Friday that Kevante Washington has been sentenced for distributing heroin and the illegal possession of a firearm.

Authorities said Washington obtained heroin just outside of Philadelphia and distributed the drug in Delaware and Maryland.

Officials said the firearm in Washington’s possession has been linked to previous shootings in Wilmington.

Two other individuals involved in distributing heroin have already been sentenced.
