Roseanne Barr’s MGM National Harbor show is no more
Roseanne Barr’s standup show planned for the Theater at MGM National Harbor has been canceled.
While it remains as the lone 2018 performance listed on Barr’s website, LiveNation and Ticketmaster are no longer offering tickets for the Oct. 12 show. The LiveNation event page instead features a red box with “CANCELED” in the middle.
The Wrap first reported the cancellation.
The decision comes after Barr tweeted racist statements early Tuesday about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, then lost her ABC show within hours in the fallout. She did apologize, but it was too late. ABC, owned by Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS), issued a statement: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
The reboot of her ’90s sitcom was among ABC’s most popular shows and was months away from returning for a second season.
