Pregnant young woman hospitalized after stabbing in Rockville

WASHINGTON —  Police in Rockville, Maryland, are investigating the stabbing of a pregnant young woman Friday.

Around 5 p.m., first responders found the young woman who was stabbed at an apartment building in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike, near Wootton Parkway, said a spokesperson with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

The victim was conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital.

WTOP’s TV news partner NBC Washington reports that the victim is 18 years old and 32 weeks pregnant.

The suspect fled the scene, and it’s unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
