WASHINGTON — A man who police want to question about the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl in Germantown, Maryland, appears to have attempted to lure a second teen into his car.

In the first incident, involving the 14-year-old, the girl was returning home from the 7-Eleven on 12861 Clopper Road on April 6. She was walking north on Mateny Road when a Hispanic male approached her in a white vehicle, possibly a smaller SUV, and asked her if she needed a ride, according to police.

When the girl said no, the man got out of the car, then grabbed and pulled her arm.

She was able to flee from the suspect and ran home, police said.

When the information about the incident was released by police, investigators said the family of the second teen girl contacted them.

They reported that the 16-year-old had been approached by a man, not once but twice.

The first time was approximately eight weeks ago at a bus stop in the 18300 block of Leaman Farm Road in Germantown at around 3:20 p.m.

Below is a map of the two locations:

The suspect approached the 16-year-old in a white vehicle, possibly a smaller SUV and asked her if she needed a ride.

She told him that she did not need a ride, and he then drove away from the area.

However, approximately two weeks later, at around 9 a.m. the same teenager was walking from her house to the 7-Eleven located at Clopper Road and Mateny Road when the man approached her once again in the vehicle and asked if she needed a ride.

The girl declined his offer and he again drove from the area.

Police said after interviewing both girls they determined that the same suspect was involved in all three incidents.

He’s described as a Hispanic male, possibly in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and thin (possibly weighing approximately 160 pounds). Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes him or who may have information about the incident to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
