3 in hospital after vehicle rollover in Md., road closed

WASHINGTON —A car rollover in Laurel, Prince George’s County, Maryland, has left 3 people in the hospital.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning near Powder Mill Road, blocking all lanes and scattering debris across the roadway.

One person was extricated from the vehicle, one person was ejected and one person self-extricated, according to Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 49. The rescue squad serves the greater Laurel area with fire rescue and emergency medical services.

Those involved in the rollover were taken to a local trauma center.

It isn’t known what injuries were sustained.

The crash led to all traffic on the Southbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway being diverted to Route 197.
