Driver overdoses, crashes into building in Annapolis

WASHINGTON — A driver who crashed into a building in Annapolis, Maryland, was suffering from an overdose Wednesday afternoon.

Annapolis police successfully administered two doses of Narcan to the driver, who was found unconscious, the Annapolis Fire Department said in a statement. The driver had shattered a building’s window in the 1700 block of West Street around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the fire department.

The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver’s dog was also in the vehicle and was not injured, fire officials said. No other injuries were reported.

A building inspector assessed the damage and found no structural damage to the building.
