Police: Dead passenger identified in Charles County crash
LA PLATA, Md. (AP) — Authorities have identified one of two passengers who perished in a single-vehicle crash that also killed the driver.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says the medical examiner has confirmed that 29-year-old Gonzey Kenneth Dyson, Jr. of La Plata was one of the dead in the Tuesday crash.
Investigators are still working to identify the second passenger who died when a Mercedes swerved off a roadway and slammed into a tree. The car caught fire following the impact.
The driver has been identified as Eric Lamont Moss, a 28-year-old from La Plata. A passerby was able to pull him out of the burning car. Moss was flown to a hospital but died from his injuries.
The bodies of the two passengers were found inside the car after firefighters doused the flames.
