Montgomery County Re-Issues Extreme Cold Weather Information for People and Animals as County Hypothermia Alert Remains in Effect and Very Cold Temperatures are Forecasted to Continue
The Hypothermia Alert issued for Montgomery County on December 25 at 5 p.m. by the County’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security continues through at least today with very cold temperatures predicted by the National Weather Service for several more days. Due to the holiday celebrations and travel during this week, this important cold-weather safety information is being re-issued.
A Hypothermia Alert is issued for the County when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, falls below 20 degrees creating a hazardous situation in which hypothermia and frostbite are likely.
