WASHINGTON — Olive Garden’s newest D.C.-area restaurant features the chain’s new look, which it started rolling out this summer as part of a brand reboot.

The Capitol Heights, Maryland, Olive Garden opens Dec. 5 at 1681 Ritchie Station Court.

Olive Garden says the 7,800-square-foot Capitol Heights location will employ more than 180.

Olive Garden, which introduced what it calls its largest menu refresh ever with more than 20 new items, said its new restaurant designs are “more open and vibrant, creating an atmosphere that promotes togetherness, while maintaining the casual warmth” its guests love. It is rolling out the new designs at 75 restaurants over the next year.

The new designs include the removal of walls, more modern lobbies and bar areas, flexible seating for larger parties and vibrant colors, fabrics and textures.

It has even gone as far as to replace the plates, with what it calls a more modern, all-white look, to enhance presentation.

Olive Garden has nine restaurants in the D.C. area, and about 800 total. It’s owned by Darden Restaurants Inc., which also operates Red Lobster, LongHorn Steakhouse and The Capital Grille, among others.

WTOP’s Brandon Millman recently reported on his experience with Olive Garden’s “Never Ending Pasta Pass.”
