Montgomery County Public Libraries Provides Additional Resources for People with Disabilities; New Accessible Computer Workstations Placed in Montgomery County Public Libraries
Most Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) branches, including the library at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, now have an additional computer workstation that makes assistive technologies available to Montgomery County residents.
The new assistive technology workstations have an electric height-adjustable table, a magnifier, and a computer with assistive software. The desktop electronic magnification system is an Optelec ClearView+ Speech Magnifier that can be used as a traditional magnification tool or as a touchscreen system that reads printed materials out loud. The computer features a large monitor, a large print keyboard, JAWS screen reading software, and MAGic screen enlarging software.
